Goodna Special School acknowledges
the Traditional Owners of our land. We pay our respects to the Elders
past, present and emerging, for they hold the
memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes
of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A better understanding and respect for
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
develops an enriched appreciation of
Australia’s cultural heritage and can lead to
reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity
of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the
development of an Australian identity.
"I like to create designs from an aerial view. I wanted the jacaranda tree to look like you are above it looking down. I also wanted bright colours of purple/pink for the leaves of the tree. I used contrast which is the black background, so it'll stand out for the jarjums (children). I also put the meeting place under the tree to represent your school. The blue circles and connecting lines, including the blue dots, represents your community/families that are all coming together to the support the school. The small white dots represent the jarjums that attend your school".
