Our school

Goodna Special School has 137 students currently enrolled. The school is divided into four Junctures which are based on ages of our students.

Junior primary - Prep to year 2

Upper primary - Year 3 to year 6

Lower secondary - Year 7 to year 9

Senior secondary - Year 10 to year 12

We have a committed staff, determined to provide a quality education to all our students.

We have a small but dedicated group of volunteers who are on the P&C committee. They support our students through a range of fund raising activities and are able to provide valuable financial support for activities such as horse riding and school camps.

We have a range of specialist subject areas such as home economics, manual arts, visual arts and personal development. All students engage with the Australian Curriculum and we also have a focus on teaching functional literacy and numeracy in order to equip our students with skills that will assist them through out their lives.

Special Education Training Alliance - SETA

When your child is in Senior Secondary, he/she may be enrolled in one or more VET certificate courses  offered through Special Education Training Alliance (SETA) that taught by VET trained school staff.  These courses are overseen and managed by SETA central RTO based at Western Suburbs Special School(RTO 41021). On successful completion of the course your child will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification.   If your child does not complete the full qualification they will receive a Statement of Attainment outlining the units that have been completed successfully.
